"Simply Susan"

The Black-Eyed Susan (Rudbechia hirta) is a bright yellow flower that symbolizes encouragement, motivation, and justice. Flowers are a favourite subject of Newfoundland and Labrador artist Brenda Rowe. She is an award-winning visual artist who produces many of her works of art from her own photography. Details in nature is the foundation of many of her paintings and a unique approach to form, texture and colour of this subject is her signature style. Rowe's artwork can be found in private and public collections internationally including throughout Canada, Germany and the United States. Active in the local art community, she has devoted time to local art associations as a board member and founder and is an arts mentor with community groups.
